The challenge

In today’s digital landscape, push notifications have become an essential tool for businesses to engage with their customers. However, Cinemark, one of the world’s largest cinema chains, faced critical challenges that hindered their operations across multiple countries: push notifications arrived late or not at all, their servers could not handle the volume of notifications they had to send, and they had no analytics through which to gauge the success of their marketing strategy, and more.

Our Solution

To overcome these challenges, Arrow Digital implemented a comprehensive approach focused on maximizing return on investment (ROI) within the allocated budget. Our solution aimed to streamline push notification delivery, improve performance through metric analysis, and provide our client with a versatile tool that offers autonomy, immediacy, segmentation, editing capabilities, and comprehensive analytics.

Our Technology

We empowered our client by leveraging AWS’s robust cloud capabilities, cloud Lambda functions coupled with a simple queue service created a service that allowed Cinemark to create and send push notifications seamlessly across its many countries of operation.

In order to eliminate wait times during peak server usage our solution implemented a mechanism to ensure we were no longer servicing devices who had removed the app. Through an in-message hook we detected users who had uninstalled the app and removed them from the data base of active devices.

Through a digital denshboard we provided our client with easy-to-use editing capabilities, allowing them to modify notifications effortlessly and adapt their marketing campaigns in real-time.

Last but not least Arrow Digital implemented a robust analytics system that provided our client with accurate, transparent, and centralized data regarding their push notification deliveries.

Through our service Cinemark was able to reduce the time-to-delivery by over 300%, ensuring that key marketing campaigns arrive on schedule

Our efficient solution was able to reduce the data base’s peak CPU usage by over 70%, ensuring smooth notification delivery

Whereas before only a single country could send notifications via the platform, now all countries can create and send notifications seamlessly
